About Me

Rev. Eva Johnson

Background

I have been in ministry for 25 years. Many of them were spent directing spiritual formation with people of all ages. More recently I served as a pastor of a United Methodist church.

Now my spiritual calling has brought me to the work of an end of life doula also known as a death midwife. Death is as sacred as birth and deserves the same focus and attention to the person dying as that given to the person coming into the world.

Principles of this work

To work as a non-medical holistic companion who guides and supports a dying person in order to facilitate a gentle and tranquil death.

To act as a nondenominational, multi-faith practitioner honoring the dying person's beliefs about death and respecting their spiritual practice whether religious, agnostic or atheist.

To support the individual needs of the dying person to ensure they are able to experience the death they want.

To create and hold a sacred and healing space for the dying.

To serve and offer compassionate care at all times, to listen and keep loving vigil, to support families of the dying person and their loved ones, giving loving care with a human touch.
